Over 100 Killed, 50 Houses Burnt Down As Fulani Herdsmen Attack 11 Plateau Villages

The police have confirmed 100 persons killed by suspected herdsmen during an attack on Gashish district of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mathias Tyopev, told Channels Television on Sunday that six people also were injured while at least 50 houses, two vehicles and 15 motorcycles were razed.

He confirmed the casualty figure and destruction after a search and rescue team from the Plateau State Police Command visited the communities affected by Saturday’s attack.
The six villages attacked by the assailants are Xlands, Gindin Akwati, Ruku, Nhgar, Kura Falls and Kakuruk, all in Gashish.
According to the command spokesman, the figure is an update of the initial 11 death toll he disclosed to the media.
He said, “I want to inform members of the public that we had earlier on in the day informed and confirmed the news of the attack on the Gashish district of Barkin Ladi and confirmed the death toll to be 11 persons.
“I was waiting for a report from the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Operations) who was sent by the Commissioner of Police to carry out a search and rescue operation in the district.
“When he came back, he came with an updated figure and the figure that we have now is that 86 people lost their lives in the attack.”
Tyopev explained that the initial death figure given by the police was not to deceive the public but to give the true position of what they had as at that time.
As apprehension mounts across the state, particularly LGAs sharing borders with Barkin Ladi, the state government imposed a dusk-to dawn-curfew in the affected local government as well as Riyom and Jos South LGAs.
The Secretary to the State Government, Mr Rufus Bature, explained in a statement on Sunday that the curfew was imposed to avert any spillover and reprisal, as well as curb the escalation of the crisis.
Meanwhile, the state governor, Simon Lalong, had to cut short his attendance of the National Convention of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja as he returned to the state before the exercise was concluded.
Visiting the affected communities, Governor Lalong appealed to people to remain calm and respect the curfew as the government investigate investigates the immediate and remote causes of the attack.

Stop Praising Only Musa So His Team Mates Do Not Get Jealous And Choke Him Out Like Yekini In 1994”

Popular Nigerian Instagram Influencer @adelovecom Just posted this Intresting Piece;

CAUTION! CAUTION!! Now we are going down that ’94 road again. Yekini scored the first goal and all media outlet made a king out of him as an individual and not part of a chain called a TEAM. Team mates were not happy and decided to choke him out. He was not fed with balls to score goals anymore. The rest is history.
Yesterday. Super eagles played as a team and Musa scored two much needed goals for us. Today it’s all about Musa alone and not the team. No one is mentioning Victor Moses who made that connection for that super first goal. Social media is awash with Musa for President, If Musa is not single I am willing to be hi second wife, Musa is bae, Musa is from my village, Musa is handsome (huh???) Musa this, Musa that! It Is called a TEAM folks so lets not reinvent that 94 misfortune. As we appreciate Musa, Let’s also appreciate and support the team and everybody in the chain after all it’s Nigeria playing. Let’s not thwart efforts towards beating Argentina 2-1 pls. Do have a great weekend.
